The surgical technician career outlook is good.  Surgical technician employment is expected to grow 15 percent between 2014 and 2024. This growth will be driven by increased surgical procedures as the population grows and ages as well as technology advances which permit surgical technicians to assist with an increased number of  new surgical procedures.  Job opportunities will be best for technicians who are certified and for those who are willing to relocate and who have completed an accredited education program and who maintain their professional certification.
